Foundations For Learning hosts a summer camp designed to be fun and educational for students during the summer months.

We use our weekly curriculum themes to assist us in scheduling field trips and special guests to engage the student’s interests. In addition to the field trips and special guests we provide transportation to private swim lessons, which are done through a private local gym.

Some of the field trips that we have gone on were:

• Lake Quassy
• Great Escape
• Connecticut Audubon
• Wickham Park
• Addison Park
• Henry Park
• Butterfly Conservatory
• Basketball Hall of Fame
• Dinosaur Park
• Eric Carle Museum
• Wadsworth Athenaeum
• Nomads Adventure Quest
• Golf Land and Games

We provide each child with a T-shirt and a water bottle to bring with them on the field trips in addition to an identification key chain that they must carry with them. The students are asked to keep a summer journal and participate in our summer reading program called “Reading Rainbow”. Our summer camp allows students the opportunity to have fun while continuing to practice the reading and writing skills they have learned throughout the school year.
