In our center based classrooms at The Foundation For Learning, each child moves freely around the classroom.

Some of the centers at the school include

• a reading station
• a writing station
• a sensory table
• an art center
• a math station
• a library station
• a building station
• a play kitchen
• a manipulative station

Language skill development

Because our teachers are trained to talk with the children about their play, their environment is language rich. We label all centers with both words and pictures. As the children mature, they learn first from real objects, then pictures, and then letter and word recognition. In many of the learning centers there are writing materials where children make their first efforts at learning to write.
