How to Ask About Your Preschooler’s Day
It’s the rare instance when a parent gets a response other than “okay” “fine” or “good” after asking their child how their day went. Most kids can only think of the day as a whole when queried about it. Getting to understand whether your son’s or daughter’s day, really was fine or good, or if they’ve gained anything at all while at preschool, takes a little more creative questioning. To gain more insight into your child’s experience at child care or preschool try some of these questions at the dinner table.
- What place at school is most fun for you?
- If you could choose the person you get to sit next to – who would that be? Why?
- What word did you learn today?
- What made you laugh today?
- What would you like to do more of at school? Why?
- What would you like to spend less time doing? Why?
- What would you do with your class if you were teacher for a day?
- Who was your favorite person today?
- What was the hardest part of your day?
- Was there a time you were bored today? When was that?
