The Creative Curriculum® for Preschool is a comprehensive scientifically based early childhood curriculum that has been shown to improve cognitive and social/emotional outcomes in young children. It is linked with a valid and reliable assessment instrument, The Creative Curriculum Development Continuum for Ages 3-5, designed so teachers can assess child progress and guide program planning.

The Creative Curriculum is based on the latest research on how children learn best and has been shown through experimental and quasi-experimental studies to improve classroom quality and promote the school readiness of preschool children. The Creative Curriculum meets all of the standards put forth for effective early childhood curricula by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and the National Association of Early Childhood Specialists in State Departments of Education (NAECS/SDE).

Creative Curriculum at Foundations For Learning

Each classroom at Foundations For Learning is designed in such a way that allows students to play individually, in small groups, and in large groups. In addition, each classroom is divided into learning centers (i.e. blocks, art, library, dramatic play, sensory, etc...)The materials in each learning center are designed to encourage open-ended creative play and developmental skill practice.

Each week we have curriculum theme such as: Nutrition Week, Artist Week, and Family Week. The staff create weekly curriculum that:
*Relates to the theme
*Incorporate the necessary skills that each child needs to practice
*Focuses on the alphabet letter of the week and a number of the week

Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten students also have Weekly Readers and workbooks that help students practice Language and Math skills that they will need when they begin Kindergarten/First Grade.
