Our Staff

Our certified teachers have been selected for their outstanding qualifications in the field of pre-school education. They are highly qualified in the fields of pre-school and infant/toddler or early childhood education.

Our teacher assistants are trained, mature adults, carefully chosen for their empathy and kindness and trained by us in the skills of caring for young children. Their one objective is to help each teacher bring out the best in your child.

All our staff members attend regular seminars and in-service training courses.

Our director, Abbie Rudnyai, tells us about herself

My name is Abbie Rudnyai and I am the Program Director at Foundations For Learning. I have a Bachelors of Science degree from Westfield State College where I graduated Cum Laude.

Ten years of experience

I have over 10 years experience working with children of all age groups in various centers throughout Connecticut. While attending college I worked full time as a Lead Teacher for a NAEYC accredited Kindergarten and School Age program located in Granby CT where I stayed for 7 years. Three years after graduating from WSC I left the center in Granby to pursue a career in the corporate world. After moving around from company to company I found out that the corporate world just wasn’t for me. After months of soul searching I finally began to realize that I hadn't been truly happy since I left my job as a Lead Teacher. So, to make a long story short here I am at Foundations For Learning, enriching the lives of the children, which in turn enriches my life.

As a Director it is my goal to provide a safe and happy environment for each child in our school, while offering love and care that focuses on each child as a unique individual. At Foundations For Learning our core belief lies with the hearts, minds and souls of our future — our children. We believe that the early years of a child's life are the most important time to educate and inspire!

I live in an old farm house in the historic district of Suffield, CT with my fiancé Jeff, my guinea pig Mabel and my Pug Toby. I am an active member of Bethany Assembly of God where I devote most of my free time to youth ministry. I enjoy hiking, working on cars (yes I am a gear head), scrap booking, and spending time with my family.

Our head teacher, Miranda Belles, speaks about herself

My name is Miranda Belles and I am the Assistant Program Director and Kindergarten teacher at Foundations For Learning. I recently graduated from the University of Hartford with my master’s degree in Early Childhood and Special Education with certification. I also have my Connecticut Head Teacher certificate for infants through school age children.

The best parts about working in early childhood are: watching them accomplish their goals, listening to them tell stories about their experiences, and working closely with them as they explore the world around them. My favorite thing about working at Foundations For Learning is that I get to work cooperatively with an amazing staff and a wonderful group of parents.
